Facilities & Infrastructure

An experimentally complete platform.

From bench-scale synthesis to synchrotron beamtime, the group operates across an integrated stack of methods and international infrastructure.

In-house & Access

Capabilities.

The group combines in-house instrumentation at ICP-CSIC with a sustained user programme at European large-scale facilities. This dual access underpins methodological development and rapid experimental turnover.

01

Synchrotron Total Scattering & PDF

Regular user programme at multiple European synchrotrons for high-energy X-ray total scattering.

02

X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy

XANES and EXAFS at metal K- and L-edges for oxidation state and coordination analysis.

03

Powder X-ray Diffraction

In-house lab diffraction, variable temperature and controlled atmosphere.

04

Operando Cells

Custom-designed reaction cells for simultaneous structural and catalytic measurements.

05

Gas Adsorption

N₂, CO₂ and vapour adsorption for porosity and surface area characterization.

06

Vibrational Spectroscopy

FT-IR and Raman with in-situ capabilities for guest–framework studies.

07

Materials Synthesis

Solvothermal, mechanochemical and post-synthetic routes to MOFs and COFs.

08

Catalytic Testing

Fixed-bed and batch reactors with online product analysis.

09

Data & Computational Support

PDFgui, TOPAS, Athena/Artemis, DFT and structure modelling workflows.

Synchrotron beamline

International Research Infrastructure

Access to world-leading synchrotron facilities.

Through long-standing collaborations and competitively awarded beamtime, our group performs advanced experiments at leading synchrotron facilities across Europe and the United States.
