Ana E. Platero-Prats

Ana E. Platero-Prats is a Senior Tenured Scientist at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry (ICP-CSIC) in Madrid, where she leads the Multiscale Characterization in Catalysis group.

Her research lies at the interface of porous materials chemistry, advanced X-ray characterization and catalysis. She develops multiscale approaches to understand how atomic and local structure, disorder and porosity govern the properties and function of porous materials.

Her work combines materials synthesis, synchrotron-based characterization, pair distribution function analysis, X-ray absorption spectroscopy and operando methodologies to establish quantitative structure–function relationships in functional porous materials.
